Meet Eva Tsang, Co-founder and Editor-in-Chief at Trotter. Eva was born and raised in New York City, working at a major news organization in the photography department before beginning Trotter. Frustrated with the typical guidebooks filled with bad recommendations and equally bad photos, Eva started to build a digital publication of curated city guides filled with beautiful imagery for travelers that shared her love for traveling and photography. Read on for more!
Q1: Where do you get your creative inspiration for Trotter and how do you develop new ideas?
Creative inspiration comes to me in many forms. From the people I meet, the conversations I have, to my everyday surroundings. I am most inspired when I am in beautiful light filled spaces or when I discover brands with thoughtful design and craftsmanship. I take all the little everyday things that inspire me and use them as a source when developing new ideas.

Q2: What role does Art play in your life both personally and professionally?
Art plays an essential part in my life, as it's the best form of expressing my individuality and creativity. As a visual person, photography is a big part of my life, both personally and professionally. Our publication is very visual and I believe that sets us apart. I love how photography makes me see the world differently and allows me to capture little everyday moments and turn them into something beautiful.

Q3: What is your skincare routine like? Do you have any tips for staying healthy, both at home and during travel?
As a minimalist, I find that a simple routine with a few products works best for me. I believe that properly cleansing our skin is the most important step for achieving clear and healthy skin. Once a week, I'll have a pamper night and treat myself to a homemade mask. My favorite concoction is yogurt and honey with splash of lemon juice for brightening effect.

My tip for staying healthy both at home and during travel is simple: drinks lots of water and green tea. Water flushes out the toxins in your body and keeps you hydrated from within, while green tea is a great source of antioxidants!

Q4: Why is New York City’s most amazing trait? Do you have any other favorite cities?
There is no other city that makes me feel more alive than New York City. I am drawn to the energy and the people that make up this great city of mine. All the faces, personalities and their stories are constantly inspiring me. As much as I love New York City, a few other cities have my heart. London and Hong Kong are definitely on my list for places I would love to live in one day. They both remind me of New York City, bustling with energy, but charming in its own way.

Q5: What has been the most exciting collaboration and/or travel project you have worked on and why?
Earlier in the year, we collaborated with American Express for their Small Business initiative. We traveled to Portland to curate and profile the best independent shops and restaurants in the city, which we then included in our city guide. It's always exciting to be able to travel for work, and finding amazing places to share with our readers is what we love to do. We also love supporting small businesses so it was wonderful being able to meet inspiring business owners and hearing their stories.

Q6: What are your favorite Dr. Jart products?
One of my favorite Dr. Jart products is the Water-full hydrogel mask. It's a trusty travel essential for me and I make a point to use it after long flights, as it works brilliantly for dehydrated and fatigue skin. As for makeup, I like to keep it fresh and minimal which is why I've been loving the Radiance BB cream. It feels light on my skin and gives me a natural glow.
